Weekly Nutrition Tips 1 -- Body Mass Index

Hey all, as a Food Science and Nutrition student, I would like to share with you some basic nutrition tips, which I think can be quite useful as nowadays people are more concern for their health. Thus, besides displaying the items for sale in this blog, I've decided to start on a Weekly Nutrition Tips section where I could share my knowledge with everyone here.

Well, let's start with some basics:

Ever wonder whether you are underweight, normal or overweight?? Here's how you can check whether you are underweight, normal or overweight:what you have to do is to calculate you Body Mass Index (BMI) -- Weight (kg)/ Height (m) x Height (m):

BMI Category
<18 -- Underweight
18-22.9 -- Normal
23- 27.4 -- Pre-Obese
>27.5 -- Obese

*BMI is used to estimate a healthy body weight based on a person's height, assuming an average body composition.

Hopefully this piece of information is beneficial for you. ^.^
